When my vocal chords don’t connect on some low notes
I’ve been a singer for most of my life, taken online courses from Per Bristow & Brett Manning in the past. Lately I’ve noticed that in some LOW notes that I feel should be within my range, my vocal chords disconnect and the only sound I can get out is a breathy “huh”. I’ve scoured the internet for tips and advice, but most vocal training focuses on reaching higher, not lower. I find that the more I focus on exercises for the high range, my low range disappears or it’s harder stay in pitch and it feels unhealthy. The best thing that I’ve found on my own so far is humming. Do you have any experience in this? Got any ideas/tips/warm-up exercises, relaxation practices or tricks that have worked for you?
Thanks for the feedback!
