Vocal Exercises With Chuck Gilmore’s Personal Lesson
Here is a video of me doing vocal exercises with a lesson I had in 2011. I edited out most of the talking so it’s about 20 minutes. I use this often as one of my favorite past lessons.
I find these exercises get my voice ready for the day or for an audition. If I do these an hour before a performance, my vocal cords feel ready to sing.

Thanks Sherry, I’m glad they are helping. Good luck on your rehab!
These exercises are marvelous. I’m attempting to return to singing after a long long absence due to physical disabilities. It’s been so long that my vocal cords have atrophied somewhat. I’m currently working with a speech therapist who specializes in singing therapy out of the University of Rochester Medical Center. She’s trying to help me work around the damaged area and she’s very good. When we’re done with our two months of therapy I hope to start seriously exercising my voice again. I had a lot of fun chiming in on your vocal exercises and they actually felt quite good. I’ll have to do a few more searches tomorrow to see what other tips you have out there. Anyway thanks for sharing that lesson.
Hi David: This lesson was 4 years ago with Greg Enriquez. The last 3 years I’ve studied with Greg’s teacher, Seth Riggs exclusively. The arpeggios require you release and adjust the pitch more quickly. You can’t press in as hard or long which results in more release.
Hey, Chuck. It’s amazing how high you can go with the lip trills. 🙂 I can get up into soprano range with them.
You do almost EXACTLY what I do. 😉 Thanks for the hint on WHEN to do these. Your head voice notes are really great.
I saw a YouTube video of Celine Dion doing lip trills and arpeggios on Larry King. SLS is a great system. It sure uses a lot of arpeggios. Why is that?
Who is your coach? He has a great range.
Thanks for sharing this. I posted some of mine on my YouTube channel.
Keep the buzz!
