Begin Here to Learn to Sing Higher. As a young man I loved to sing, but could only sing to the E above middle C before my voice would break. I couldn’t sing any higher without straining, yelling, or breaking. [Demo] I thought I was limited by birth. I just wasn’t born with the vocal cords that could sing higher.
When I was 43 years old I experienced somewhat of a miracle. I learned a technique that enabled me to sing the F, then F#, G, Ab, A and higher! [Demo] It was as if the heavens parted and this great gift was bestowed upon me. What I never could do in 43 years I did in just a few lessons.
I’ve shared this story several times. Each time other singers say, “this is my exact scenario too”, and, “this is what I have searched for all my life”.
Then the next question is, “What should I do now? Where do I start?
Inside this video I’ll tell you where to start and exactly what to do to give you this same miracle in your life!
First, please read my complete singing story on my website at PowerToSing.com in the “About” section. Scroll to the bottom and click on the link “More details about my personal experiences with singing.”
Begin Here to Learn to Sing Higher
OK, here are 5 exact steps you must take to have a miracle occur in your singing like it did mine.
#1. You must learn to bridge.
That means, you must learn to sing from your chest voice, through the first bridge of your voice, into head voice.
Men, this means learning to sing higher than what you think is the top of your voice. [Demo] For the women, this means you must learn to sing through the break area of your middle voice, around the A above Middle C. You must learn to do that without straining, breaking into falsetto, or singing light and breathy.
#2. Go to PowerToSing.com
A. Take the PowerTest which is a vocal test. This PowerTest will give you your Vocal Type.
Watch the video on the website located just below the title, “PowerTest”. It will show you how to take the PowerTest.
Take the PowerTest like this: [See demo taking PowerTest]
B. Then take the quiz. Be sure to answer all the questions, and submit your answers via email. Within a few minutes you’ll get an email with your vocal type. Check spam if it doesn’t show up soon.
C. There’s a second way to take the PowerTest. After you record it you can email the recording to me. Within 1-3 days I’ll listen to your test and email you your vocal type.
The PowerTest will help determine your vocal type.
#3. Watch your email and GET YOUR VOCAL TYPE.
YOUR VOCAL TYPE IS WHAT YOU TEND TO DO WHEN YOU SING THROUGH THE FIRST BRIDGE.
This means if you tend to pull chest or raise your larynx as you sing though the first bridge, your vocal type is Pulled Chest-High Larynx. There are 4 vocal types. You are predominately one of these vocal types.
For more general information about vocal types watch this video. https://www.powertosing.com/ep-18-singing-tips-vocal-type-reveals-singing-problems/
#4. After you get your vocal type, go to the Knowledge Center on the website.
In the Knowledge Center you will see four vocal types listed at the top of the page. Click on yours and watch the three videos about your vocal type.
#5. Download the free exercises for your vocal type.
The exercises are designed to correct the problems you have in your voice so you can bridge successfully.
They will enable you to learn to transition from low notes, (chest voice) to high notes (head voice) easily.
Here’s a special tip #6.
One way to save yourself weeks, months or years is to schedule a SKYPE lesson with me. Learning on your own is possible, but takes longer and can be frustrating.
A listening ear from a professional will speed up your results significantly. I know. I listened to tapes for two years. I have found that personal lessons makes progress much faster.
This is the beginning of your miracle you can experience in your voice. There’s no better place to start. This will not only help you sing higher, but it will begin to improve your tone, increase your confidence and power in your voice.
